Description

On this site, a page from the famous Gelre Armorial is shown: it concerns Aragon. I'm referring more specifically to the blue banner bearing a white cross patée fitched at foot; as you can see, the image is also present on the royal helmet's mantling. Furthermore the cross is part of the arms on the present-day flag of Aragon.

The other banners on the page are variants of well-known flags, but this is presented as the banner of Aragon.

It's the cross of Iñigo Arista, first king of Pamplona in the IX century. See here for his arms.
